About the Speaker:

Zaki-FasihuddinZaki Fasihuddin is SVP of Business and Corporate Development at MGM Resorts where he focuses on strategic partnerships, technology innovation and M&A. He helps drive the company’s digital strategy and sits on the Boards of the company’s start-up investments. He has also held previous digital transformation leadership roles at McDonald’s Corp. and Volvo Cars Group as VP, General Manager and CEO of subsidiaries, Volvo Car Technology USA LLC and Volvo Car Tech Fund AB. He was responsible for establishing and running R&D labs and venture investment platforms for both companies in Silicon Valley. At McDonald’s he opened the first SF Bay Area office and forged early co-creation partnerships with Apple, Google and Facebook. At Volvo Cars, he was GM of the 120 person Sunnyvale R&D lab working on autonomous driving, electrification and ecommerce, and founded the Volvo Cars Tech Fund, where two of his early auto-tech investments, Luminar & Freewire became unicorns in 2020. Before getting involved in digital transformation work, he spent over a decade developing digital products both as a start-up entrepreneur and as a product management leader within PayPal, eBay and American Express. He remains connected to the start-up community advising entrepreneurs at Plug & Play and Techstars and through angel investing. He studied at Georgetown University, Babson College and MIT Sloan.
