Faraz Abbasi has been working in private equity for past 20 years. He is a Senior Partner at Centerfield Capital Partners where he is currently managing a $375 million, Fund IV, Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) Fund. An SBIC is a privately owned and managed investment fund that is licensed and regulated by the SBA. SBICs use their own capital, plus funds borrowed with an SBA guarantee, to make equity and mezzanine investments in qualifying small businesses.

At Centerfield, Faraz is a member of the Partnership’s Investment Committee and is responsible for investor relations, overseeing due diligence, structuring and negotiating transactions, and portfolio management.

Faraz is also a national figure as Chairman of Board of Governors of the Small Business Investors Alliance (SBIA), a trade association of over 300 SBICs. The SBIA is an association of senior investment professionals focused on the lower middle market whose members represent the entire private capital ecosystem. The association advocates for appropriate regulation and tax policy that promotes domestic investment and the growth of small businesses that fuel the US economy.
